Noa Hardisty
Noa Hardisty | ʻEleʻele
My name is Noa Hardisty and I'm from Honolulu, Hawai'i. I mostly paint things that I'm inspired by and that I've learned about growing up in Hawaii. My work mainly deals with surf culture and Hawaiian plants and animals. When you first enter my space, you'll notice the menpachi, the red fish, and the puhi, the big eel, covering the entrance of the room. Inside the space, you'll probably notice night marchers, menehune, and hula dancers, which are all things my dad would tell me stories about as a kid going to bed. You'll also find different types of animals found in Hawaii. I tried to add sort of a mystic touch to bring that same sense of wonder into my room. So I hope the audience not only enjoys the beauty of Hawaii, but also takes inspiration to learn about the legends and the stories of Hawaii that are connected with the land.
